In the codes used below the combinations HT and TR stand for heart, and
triangle respectively. Most triangular medallions were used pointing
upwards, with one exception. TRD is for a rare triangular shape - not
more than 50 pieces sold - pointing downwards. PPP is a "porcelain
painting pendant" that can be seen as a miniature version of the famous "porcelain paintings" or "plaques" produced by Delft potters as of c.1660. Like their larger archetype, they are not porcelain. The pendant is made of pottery covered with a thin white clay engobe.
It is the only Verwoerd model that was designed not to be framed in
silver. The caption under each picture mentions the number of pieces sold, and the years in which they have been produced. Although we believe that these figures are a useful indication of the relative production sizes, they
may be subject to change on the basis of further research results.
